Located at Llangeinor, South Wales in the UK, Irvin-GQ design, manufacture and supply a
comprehensive range of parachutes and emergency, rescue and survival equipment to the military,
coastguard and civilian aerospace markets.
For more than 75 years, Irvin-GQ has been at the forefront of parachute design and technology.
The company is one of the largest parachute manufacturers in the world and sets the standard for
innovation, quality and reliability. The company is actively engaged in the development of
parachutes and equipment to meet future requirements.
The Engineering Department is responsible for all programmes from the proposal stage to
production. This encompasses design, development, static and dynamic testing, drawing
approval, preparation of procedures and specifications and approval of production prototypes.
The Manufacturing Department utilises the latest production techniques and processes for the
preparation and assembly of products. Many processes are automated to achieve repeatability
and reliability.
The Sales and Marketing Department maintains close links with customers in the UK and worldwide.
Current products are actively promoted, including demonstrations of equipment where appropriate.
Marketing data is gathered to enable accurate predictions to be made of future requirements and
developments. The company exhibits at major Defence and Aerospace Exhibitions worldwide.

to the highest Defence and Aerospace Quality Standards including ISO 9001.
Irvin-GQ offers a comprehensive product support service, precisely tailored to customer
requirements, ranging from the provision of spares and consumable items to complete logistic
support and training. Since 1991, the company has operated a specialised outsourced service
facility, the Airborne Forces Parachute Support Unit (AFPSU), which repairs, maintains and
packs all of the parachutes and related equipment for the UK Airborne Forces.
