For more than 75 years, Irvin-GQ has been a leader in the design, development and manufacture of assisted and unassisted emergency escape parachute systems.
The Irvin-GQ Aeroconical Canopy has been designed to satisfy the requirement for an escape parachute with performance characteristics suited to the demands of aircraft operating at ever increasing speeds and altitudes.
A long established relationship has resulted in Irvin-GQ parachutes being integral parts of Martin-Baker Ejection Seats for over 50 years. Martin-Baker seats incorporating Irvin-GQ parachutes are currently fitted to a range of combat aircraft including:
- Lockheed-Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)
- Eurofighter Typhoon
- Rafale
- Gripen
- F-18
- Harrier
- Tornado
- Hawk/T-45
- JPATS
For unassisted emergency escape, Irvin-GQ's range of Back and Seat Type Parachute Assemblies are used by pilots and aircrew of military and non-military aircraft.
Military assemblies are used in training, transport and rotary winged aircraft. They are equally suited for use by seated aircrew and those who are required to move about the aircraft, eg: loadmasters and jumpmasters.
